Subluxation and Heart Disease: Learn the Truth! Tell the Truth!

There is a significant relationship between vertebral subluxation and function of the heart!

First off…we nesurgeons-performing-open-surgeryed to recognize the significance of heart disease in our culture:

*About 600,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year. (1 in every 4 deaths)

*Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women.

*Coronary heart disease alone costs the United States $108.9 billion each year.

108.9 BILLION per year! Can you imagine what good could be done with just a quarter of that amount?

Since 1984, more women than men have died each year from heart disease. Heart disease is now the #1 killer of women, causing more deaths than all cancers combined. Yet only 56 percent of American women realize that heart disease is their greatest health threat.

Those numbers are staggering! It’s critical to know the spine plays an integral role in allowing full function to the heart and vascular system.

No doctor can directly affect heart function without drugs or surgery more than a Chiropractor!

Any slight alteration in the position or movement of a spinal vertebra, called a vertebral subluxation by Chiropractors, alters blood chemistry through changes in a small part of the brain known as the hypothalamus. When a man or woman is subluxated, they have an increased release of stress hormones into the blood. These stress hormones, referred to as catecholamines, release and trigger the “fight or flight” response. The fight or flight stress response is a direct result of increased and sustained sympathetic nervous system tone.

IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT INCREASED SYMPATHETIC TONE IS A MAJOR CAUSE OF CARDIOVASCULAR EVENTS AND DISEASE!

The chiropractic adjustment reduces sympathetic tone by influencing the nervous system via the hypothalamus!

This is why studies like the 2007 research out of the Chicago-based Rush Hypertension Center achieved amazing results with blood pressure by adjusting the upper cervical spine. (grab the Free Report at chiropracticadvocate.com if you want the refermore studies like this)

The evidence is clear. The science is real. The missing element is awareness!

Time to bring awareness and solutions to one of the most dangerous threats to heart disease….vertebral subluxation!

  1. I will be sharing this at our conference coming up in Feb and April. Keep up the good work Brother.

  2. Would be interested in more studies supporting the efficacy of Chiropractic.

    • Dan Sulivan says:

They will keep coming…stay tuned to your email and the blogs. I have a lot coming this month and next. Thanks for your commitment to Chiropractic.

  3. Raphael says:

I entered my name. How do I get the 3 studies? Let me know.

    • Dan Sulivan says:

Raphael, I was just checking in to make sure you were able to get the studies. Let me know if you were not. Thanks

  4. Randy Babcock says:

Thanks for the blog! Its about time we stop being cowards and tell our patients the truth about chiropractic!!

  5. Esther says:

Great article! Thank you Dr. Sullivan!

  6. the 2007 blood pressure research looks great, but was just a pilot study. Why hasn’t there been a larger study done?!!!
I mean, the knowledge is there with the saliva glucose and blood markers.
It seems to me that the two big good colic studies out of Europe helped get mothers bring in their babies, and after that their older children and then themselves.
    Thanks for your input.

    • Dan Sulivan says:

I agree with you, I wish we did have larger scale studies to show the proof across greater populations. We just don’t have the
funding as a profession to do those sort of studies. It’s unfortunate. But the gov’t gives peanuts for funding chiropractic studies compared to anything else. We have to accept that and move forward with what we do know. Study or not, we have the science to explain exactly why we expect and get results.

Appreciate your commitment. Keep up the good work!
